Legs 11, the concert to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research made a successful debut at the Domain last year – with acts such as Tex and Tim and Sarah Blasko lending a tune or two for a worthy cause.

Well, so successful was the inaugural event that promoters Black Betty and Desert Productions have decided to return this year with another concert. Legs 11 will be staged on October 26 at the Domain and artists such as Missy Higgins, The Waifs and Paul Kelly stepping up to the plate.

While there are a plethora of festival-style concerts on during the spring/summer period – Legs 11 is different in that it allows the everyday punter to see a great gig and contribute to a worthwhile charity and important cause all at the same time.

Says Legs 11 co-producer Kristen Francis: [For us] “It was a case of seeing one too many muscles on stage at festivals throughout the years. We wanted to put together an event that we, as women, could relate to that featured a good balance of muscles and legs – on-stage, behind the scenes and in the audience.

“We also wanted to support a cause that focused on women’s health and breast cancer reflects this idea”.
