Mudhoney return to Melbourne for the first time in over five years - have they still got it? Supported by rock 'n roll beast Salmon, and the Double Agents.
Seattle grunge legends prove that legendary doesn't have to mean washed up.
Mudhoney were in the epicentre of the early 1990s grunge hurricane that whipped through the music industry. In 2005 their sound hasn't changed, and neither has their commitment to the best of the garage punk music spirit.
How does a band measure success? Does it come from the number of albums they've sold or how many fans they've acquired along the way? If that's the case then there is a new definition of 'successful', as Bird Blobs haven't done much of either yet, but that's all about to change.
I first saw Mudhoney in 1990 at the Byron Arts factory, I had no idea who they were but as a 15 year old my parents were willing to let me go see them and that was good enough for me. I had never really heard or seen anything like these guys - they were loud, raw and going off.
Saturday nights show at the Corner has sold out but the boys from Mudhoney don't want you to miss them so announced today, a second show.

For 18 years Mudhoney have been at the forefront of everything to do with the so-called Seattle sound. They were there to pioneer it and lead it into its mainstream revolution, and they are still here today as one of the few who survived the grunge implosion.
